A professional educator for over twenty-five years, Lynda M. Rogers, Ed.D. is Dean of UCSC Extension and Executive Director of Scout from University of California (Scout). Rogers became Dean in 2012, and is the principal officer and chief liaison to the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC), UC Office of the President (UCOP), and statewide constituents. She provides the academic leadership for a portfolio of over 40 academic programs; manages the strategic, financial and operational aspects of both UNEX and Scout and ensures the quality of instruction and experience for our students. Rogers provides executive leadership for UC and UCSC institutional initiatives that furthers UC's academic, research and community service goals.
Prior to her position as Dean, Rogers served as Assistant Vice Provost of University Extension, Assistant Vice Provost of Silicon Valley Initiatives and Executive Director University of California Online Academy. Prior to UCSC, Dean Rogers was the Director of Science and Technology for the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, a science educator and consultant for the California Department of Education.
Dean Rogers received her Ed.D in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne. She holds an M.A. in Educational Administration from San Jose State University, B.A. in Literature with a Biology Minor from UC Santa Cruz, and California Professional Clear Teaching Credential.
Lynda is active within the local community. She has served as Vice President of the Mission City Communicty Fund and Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is a member of the San Jose Rotary Club. She is married and lives with two Havana Brown cats.
